Culture over code: A conversation with a Team Ireland Olympian.

Gavin Noble is the Performance and Marketing Director for Team Ireland. An Olympian himself, he made history as Ireland's first-ever male triathlete at the London 2012 Games. Gavin served as Chef de Mission for Team Ireland at the Paris 2024 Olympics, overseeing Ireland’s most successful Games to date, and was Deputy Chef de Mission at Tokyo 2020.

Currently leading the strategy for Team Ireland's journey to LA28, Gavin is responsible for aligning high-performance planning across Olympic sports with the Olympic Federation of Ireland’s commercial and brand vision. His work sits at the intersection of elite sport, leadership, innovation, and storytelling.

With extensive experience in global sports marketing and performance systems, he is driving a unified approach to how Team Ireland performs, partners, and communicates—ensuring the Olympic brand remains aspirational for athletes and meaningful for stakeholders.

Gavin is particularly interested in how emerging technologies, including AI and data intelligence, can support—not replace—human performance, decision-making, and culture.
